Idaho Sled Dog Challenge

January 29–February 5, 2025

The Idaho Sled Dog Challenge is a premier winter event that brings the thrilling world of sled dog racing to the picturesque West Central Mountains of Idaho. As one of the most challenging races in the lower 48 states, it serves as an official qualifier for the renowned Iditarod and Yukon Quest, attracting elite mushers and their highly trained canine teams from across the globe.

Racers navigate rugged mountain terrain, snow-covered forests, and icy trails, testing their endurance, skill, and determination over hundreds of miles. Spectators have the rare opportunity to witness the incredible bond between mushers and their dogs as they work together to conquer the elements in this ultimate test of teamwork and perseverance.

Wildland Firefighter Foundation Ice Fishing Tournament

The Wildland Firefighter Foundation Ice Fishing Tournament is a unique and heartwarming event that combines outdoor adventure with a meaningful cause. Set against the serene backdrop of a frozen lake, participants gather to enjoy a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and winter fun.

Anglers of all skill levels come together to drill holes in the ice, cast their lines, and reel in the excitement, all while raising funds to support the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. This organization is dedicated to aiding the families of fallen firefighters and providing assistance to injured heroes who have bravely served in wildland firefighting.

McCall Winter Carnival

February 21-23, 2025

The McCall Winter Carnival is a beloved annual tradition that brings thousands of visitors to this scenic mountain town for a weekend of winter magic. Once a 14-day celebration, the event is now packed into an action-packed three-day weekend, making every moment count.

One of the biggest highlights of the carnival is the stunning ice and snow sculptures displayed throughout town. These intricate, larger-than-life creations—crafted by talented local and visiting artists—transform McCall into a breathtaking winter wonderland.

Beyond the sculptures, the festival is filled with parades, live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and local artisan markets, all set against the stunning backdrop of Payette Lake and Idaho’s snow-covered mountains.

Disabled Veteran's Ride

Help us honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our great nation. ISSA is proud to sponsor the annual Disabled Veterans Ride in McCall, Idaho.

If you own more than one snowmobile, we invite you to make a difference by volunteering. As a volunteer, you’ll bring your extra snowmobile(s) and serve as a riding coach for a veteran, sharing your skills and helping create an unforgettable experience.

📍 Location: Frances Wallace Trailhead, McCall, Idaho

A complimentary lunch will be provided for all participants.

41st ANNUAL SALMON RIVER JET BOAT RACE

April 18-20, 2025

The 41st Annual Salmon River Jet Boat Race in Riggins, Idaho, is set for April 18-20, 2025. This high-speed, adrenaline-fueled event takes place on the legendary “River of No Return,” where jet boat racers compete on an eight-mile course, covering 80 miles over the weekend. Spectators line the riverbanks, with prime viewing spots at the Time Zone Bridge and other key locations along the water. The event kicks off Friday evening with a Show and Shine barbecue in downtown Riggins, where fans can meet racers and check out the boats up close.

Racing action begins Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., followed by an evening fireworks show at Riggins City Park on Saturday. With its mix of thrilling competition and small-town charm, this event draws crowds from all over. Visitors are encouraged to book accommodations early, dress in layers, and bring chairs for the best experience. Whether you’re a motorsports fan or just looking for an exciting weekend, the Salmon River Jet Boat Race is an unforgettable Idaho tradition.
